Frequently Asked Questions

How can I fill my vehicle with air conditioning gas?

Filling your vehicle's air conditioning gas with Alaska Refrigerant is a simple and easy process that anyone can do. Follow the steps below:

Open the hood and locate the low pressure connection point (see Frequently Asked Questions).
Open the hood, open the hood and look for the low-pressure connection (low pressure only).
Start the engine and turn the air conditioner to the highest setting.
Check the pressure gauge on the hose

- Low i.e. below 25 Psi means you need to add gas to the system.

- Filled means the system is charged, no gas is needed <55 PSI

(if the system is still not cold, you have another problem)

- warns that no additional gas is needed < 65 PSI

WARNING >65 PSI ( CHECK THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING PUMP IS WORKING

THE CLUTCH IS ON

IF IT IS ON, THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED)

Open the cylinder shut-off valve and refill the air conditioner gas. Be sure to fill the system to the green zone.

And you're done! Alaska Refrigerant makes it a breeze to top off the air conditioning gas in your vehicle. If you have any questions or concerns, read the product instructions before use or consult a professional.

I don't know where the low pressure end point of the air conditioning is in my car. How do I find it?

All vehicles have low and high pressure pipes located in the engine compartment. After visually locating the pipes, follow the low-pressure pipe (which is thicker than the other, but the filler connection is smaller) and in each case the filling point will be found. Some manufacturers may have a different size connector (Renault only for certain years) or other manufacturers may have a connector in a difficult to reach location but most have it in the optimum location. In our case the longer plug is designed for this reason.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you can't find the low pressure hose on your car, or visit this website and enter the make and model of your vehicle: https://www.carcarekiosk.com for video help.

Do I always have to buy the hose?

No, you only need to buy the hose once. In the future, you will only need to purchase the gas refill and use the hose to refill the system.

Does Alaska Refrigerant work with any vehicle?

Alaska Refrigerant can be used in a wide range of automotive air conditioning systems, including cars, trucks, agricultural, utility and recreational vehicle systems. It is designed to be a universal refrigerant that can replace conventional refrigerants such as R134a or R1234yf in most air conditioning systems.

However, it is important to note that some vehicles may require specific refrigerants depending on the make and model. Always refer to your vehicle owner's manual or consult a qualified technician to determine the appropriate refrigerant for your vehicle's air conditioning system. We've created a database to help you easily check if the coolant we offer is right for your vehicle.

In general, Alaska Refrigerant is compatible with most air conditioning systems that use R134a refrigerant. It is important, however, to always check the compatibility of Alaska Refrigerant with your vehicle before you recharge your air conditioning system.

When does Alaska Refrigerant fail to solve an air conditioning problem?

In leaking or other problematic systems: Before adding refrigerant to your air conditioning system, it is important to make sure that the system is working properly and not leaking. It can be dangerous to add refrigerant to a leaking system, and it certainly won't solve the underlying problem.

In systems with damaged parts: If your air conditioning system has a damaged or worn part, such as a compressor or condenser, adding refrigerant may not be enough to restore system performance. In some cases, it may be necessary to replace these components before adding refrigerant.

Description

Package contents:
– 1 bottle of air conditioning leak sealer with propellant gas. Contains 40 g of propellant and 30 ml of sealing compound.
– 1 bottle of HC134a hydrocarbon-based refrigerant gas substitute. This bottle contains 185 g of gas, equivalent to 1 × 500 g of R134a refrigerant.
(NOTE: Charging hose not included in the package!)

Important: This product is intended only for use in systems with zero pressure.
The leak sealer prevents refrigerant loss by sealing leaks in O-rings and other connection points. It helps avoid expensive repair costs by sealing microleaks and ensuring the integrity of the A/C system.

One of the most important properties of leak sealing compounds is their ability to hermetically seal surfaces and gaps, preventing liquids, gases, or other substances from escaping or entering the system. As a result, these products enhance the system’s efficiency, safety, and longevity.

With the Alaska Aircon leak sealer, you can easily and safely eliminate small leaks in your vehicle’s A/C system — all from home.

HOW TO USE THE PRODUCT:
• Start the engine and set the A/C to the coldest temperature with the fan at maximum or automatic speed.
• Locate your vehicle’s low-pressure service port. Pull back the plastic ring on the connector, attach the hose to the port, and release the ring. You should hear a click when it connects properly.
• Turn the bottle upside down and slowly open the valve to let the contents flow into the system.
IMPORTANT: Monitor the pressure gauge continuously and stop filling once the correct pressure is reached.
• Once the bottle is empty or the desired pressure is reached, close the valve. Turn off the engine and disconnect the hose.
• Restart the vehicle and check the cooling performance. Wait 10 minutes and check the pressure again.
